This course looks at the issues of conflict of interest and confidentiality in relation to conveyancing transactions and comprises notes adapted from the Law Society of Scotland's practice guidelines. There are a number of problems for you to solve which are anonymised versions of real enquiries received by the Law Society’s Professional Practice Department in recent years.
The purpose of this course is not to ensure that all estate agency services provided by solicitors are identical, but rather to emphasise what is 'best practice' within the industry and what are the unchanging essentials of the service.
The course also describes the basic essentials of a good quality service, dealing with subjects such as the marketing of the properties, as well as the marketing of the firm.
